Integration: Pairing with Esri Field Maps

This integration article will explain how to pair your Bad Elf GPS with ArcGIS Field Maps

  1. Pair your Bad Elf GPS to your phone via Bluetooth. Here are a few guides for iOS and Android:

  2. Open Field Maps > tap the Settings icon

  3. Under SettingsLocation> tap Provider

  4. In Location Providers, tap Add then select your device (If your device is not a part of this list you will have to check your
Bluetooth connection status between your Bad Elf and your phone/tablet)

  5. After selecting the Bad Elf receiver, select the appropriate height for the antenna.
If height is not relevant for you, leave this setting at 0. Otherwise, we suggest using a pole
with a fixed height. Simply enter the pole height and the additional antenna offset for
the GPS unit. The Bad Elf Flex antenna offset is 23 cm above the base of the receiver. Tap Done

  6. Once complete, select the Bad Elf GNSS receiver from the Location Provider screen.
Ensure the check-mark is displayed next to the Bad Elf receiver.
